If you’re used to VPN apps from other providers, you may be a little taken aback by PureVPN at first. This feature turns your computer into a WiFi hotspot that other devices can connect to, to use the VPN connection it’s a neat tool that brings your VPN to devices that wouldn’t otherwise be able to use it, but you’ll need to have a compatible computer to take advantage of it.

Configuration guides are also available for smart TVs and Linux distros including Ubuntu, Arch and CentOS. It would be nice to see similar efforts from PureVPN – even a little more info about its features and uses would go a long way. PureVPN’s competitors, for the most part, provide plenty of information about each of their features and VPNs in general, making them great resources for both customers and non-customers who want to learn about online security. Things are much the same on the “Why PureVPN” page, which offers similar blurbs on topics like encryption, tracking and P2P filesharing but not much else if you’ve got even a little technical knowledge under your belt, you’re not likely to learn much here.
The “Features” page lists many more features, but none of them get more than a sentence of description or any links to more detailed articles. Scroll a bit on the homepage, and you’ll find brief descriptions of a few features that link to pages with slightly more in-depth details, but there’s nothing about PureVPN’s more unique features, nor anything that will be new information for anyone familiar with VPN basics.
